In January 2024, the Community College Baccalaureate Association (CCBA) presented results of the second national inventory of CCB-degree programs (updating data from November 2021) which includes a national count of community college bachelor’s degree programs by state, institution, and program of study using 2- and 6-digit Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) codes from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).
This database includes public community colleges identified by the Basic Carnegie Classification of baccalaureate/associates dominant or mixed baccalaureate/associates. It also presents CCB-degree programs not yet evident in IPEDS but confirmed through state agency and institutional websites and interviews.
This national inventory is supported by CCBA’s membership and the generous funding of the ECMC Foundation and the Joyce Foundation and was created by the CCBA research team led by Dr. Cheryl Cicotti, Dr. Angela Kersenbrock, and Dr. Debra Bragg, Bragg & Associates, Inc. Colleagues Stephanie O’Leary, Cari Bishop, and Tim Harmon also contributed their research expertise.
Moving forward, the national inventory will be updated on a regular basis by the CCBA national office staff. Users of the national inventory are encouraged to email info@accbd.org with information about new CCB-degree programs and offer other recommendations to help CCBA maintain a full and accurate picture of CCB degree conferral in the United States.
