BREAKING NEWS: Arizona Approved to Offer Community College Baccalaureates
Following four decades of ongoing efforts, AZ Representative Becky Nutt, Senator Paul Boyer and supporters of Senate Bill 1453 are celebrating today after the announcement that Governor Douglas Ducey signed the bill into law to make workforce-driven community college baccalaureates available throughout the state.
“Enabling community colleges in our state to offer four-year degrees will make higher education dramatically more accessible and more affordable for Arizonans,” said Representative Nutt.
“We appreciate the leadership and guidance provided to us by the Community College Baccalaureate Association throughout this journey. Without the data, research and consult of the CCBA, our case for the CCB would not have been as powerful. This critical partnership allowed us to present a workforce-driven, equitable solution that addresses the gaps between Arizona’s universities and community colleges.”
Congratulations to Rep. Nutt and the State of Arizona for recognizing the value of the CCB and its impact on the state’s workforce. Future students, families and communities will benefit from these opportunities for generations to come – the CCBA applauds your efforts!
